What to Expect/FAQs

How does counseling work? What are some of the important pieces, including fee structure and insurance that you might need to know before you jump in.

Starting therapy is scary! It requires a ton of courage to share your story with a stranger and begin this journey. Here’s how the process usually goes:

  • You schedule a 15 minute consultation. During the consultation, you and Eliza will talk about what brings you to therapy and whether or not she’s a good fit for you. That is the MOST important part of therapy, so don’t be afraid to shop until you find someone who is right for you.
  • If you are a good fit, during the call you will schedule an intake session. During intake sessions, Eliza learns a LOT more about you, and you’ll learn about how she works, the practice polices, etc. Then you’ll work on scheduling regular sessions and establishing your goals for counseling.
  • After that, you will meet Eliza regularly until you feel ready to transition out of counseling, or you meet your goals!

It’s important to remember that you are in charge of how this goes. You decide a lot about your treatment, your wellness, and your experience.

Currently, Eliza does not accept insurance directly. She is partnered with a company that helps folks navigate out of network benefits, and can offer a “superbill” for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement (Subject to benefits policy).

Fee schedule is as follows:

$120 per 50 minute session for individual sessions

$140 per 50 minute session for couples sessions

Eliza works in offices in both Pittsboro and Cary, or online via a HIPPA-compliant telehealth platform. Both offices are wheelchair or mobility-device accessible.

Hours are 9am-6pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. You can schedule appointments within those hours.

There is a 24 hour cancellation policy in place. If you late cancel (canceling within the 24 hour window) or no-show an appointment, you will be charged the full rate of your session.

Yes- this is for both your and Eliza’s benefit. She’ll be able to tell if she has the qualifications to support you, and you’ll be able to tell if you all vibe, if she aligns with your needs, if this is the right financial commitment for you, etc.
