Your mental health is a canvas of endless possibilities. Let’s paint a picture that embraces all you are becoming
Embark on a journey with North Carolina based counseling services, where mental health care meets transformative experience.
Welcome to
A Creative Becoming
You are always in process, always becoming. It’s normal to stress and flounder sometimes. You deserve mental health care that genuinely cares about you and the journey you are on.
A Creative Becoming is a mental health counseling practice owned and operated by Eliza Jane Harris, LCMHCA, NCC. Eliza (she/her) believes that we are all inherently creative, constantly learning, changing, and growing into new versions of ourselves. It is an honor to witness the development and healing journey you have chosen to embark upon. Eliza works with folks in person in Pittsboro and Cary, but can see folks via HIPPA-compliant telehealth all over North Carolina.
Right now, you’re struggling.
You feel like you should have it all “together” but somehow, it keeps slipping through your fingers. You keep it all inside because letting it out, even a little, would be too much, and it is too hard to trust others. You’re down on yourself a lot of the time. It feels like there’s something holding you back, and if you could just fix it, everything would be better. It feels like you’ve finally reached the end of your rope, and you know you need help.
Eliza works with folks of all genders, abilitites and races, ages 14+ who:
- Have early in life trauma or abuse experiences.
- Struggle with self-esteem, anxiety, low self-image (particularly feeling bad about their bodies), depression and often PTSD.
- May have the classic “oldest daughter” experience or the “gifted kid” experience.
- Are frustrated by their current experience and the sensation of being stuck.
- Find themselves needing to be “perfect,” often as a result of comparison.
No matter your body’s appearance, your identities or your abilities, Eliza is thrilled to be able to support you.
You deserve care
Eliza is a compassionate licensed mental health counselor with a knack for meeting you right where you are and helping you take the next steps to get you where you’re going.
To get you started, Eliza uses some more typical talk therapy elements, along with EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), Expressive Arts Therapy and other specific interventions. You can expect a culturally humble, autonomous experience where you are respected, cared for and celebrated.

What is the Counseling Process Like?
01
Free Consultation
Schedule a free 15-minute consultation to get to know Eliza and find out if she is a good fit for you. This is a brief session to hear about what is going on with you, and for you to learn about what it will be like to work with Eliza.
02

Eliza asks that you meet at least 3 sessions weekly before deciding to stop therapy. This ensures that Eliza and you are able to get to know each other, build rapport and have a firm foundation for counseling or referral.
